Evidence
ModerateAnimal studies with mechanistic evidence

DEP is the phthalate most commonly found in fragranced personal care products. It shows anti-androgenic activity in animal models and is detectable in the urine of nearly all men in the US. While its human evidence is weaker than DEHP or DBP, cumulative exposure through daily grooming products is a realistic concern.
