Evidence
ModerateAnimal studies with mechanistic evidence

Octinoxate (OMC) binds estrogen receptors and shows estrogenic activity in uterotrophic assays. Animal studies demonstrate thyroid hormone disruption at repeated exposure doses. It is measurably absorbed through skin into the bloodstream. While human evidence for testosterone effects is limited, its estrogenic and thyroid-disrupting properties represent a concern for men's hormonal health when applied daily.
